A. BioControl™ Fungi-T — Trichoderma-based biological fungicide/soil inoculant
| Component | Target specification | Function |
|---|---|---|
| Selected Trichoderma strain | Validated strain | Active biological agent |
| Viable propagules | ≥1 × 10⁸ CFU/g at manufacture* | Biological activity |
| Sterile/low-bioburden carrier | q.s. to 100% | Carrier |
| Rice/cassava starch or equivalent | 5–15% | Carrier + protectant |
| Maltodextrin | 2–5% | Stabilizer |
| Humic/organic carrier fraction | 5–10% | Formulation support |
| Non-ionic wetting agent | 0.5–2% | Dispersion |
| Protective osmolyte | 1–3% | Viability protection |
| Moisture | ≤8% target | Shelf stability |
| Total | 100% |
*Final viable-count specification should be established through strain-specific validation rather than assumed.
B. BioControl™ Fungi-B — Beauveria-based insect biocontrol
A separate formulation would be appropriate:
| Component | Typical development range |
|---|---|
| Validated Beauveria strain | Active ingredient |
| Viable conidia | ≥1 × 10⁸ conidia/g target* |
| Inert botanical/mineral carrier | 60–80% |
| Starch/maltodextrin protectant | 5–15% |
| UV/protective additive | 1–3% |
| Wetting/dispersing system | 0.5–2% |
| Moisture | ≤8% target |
| Total | 100% |
The formulation should be optimized experimentally for conidial viability, germination, shelf life, dispersibility and field efficacy.
C. Recommended Crown product architecture
Crown BioControl™ Fungi
- Fungi-T — Trichoderma biological disease-management platform
- Fungi-B — Beauveria entomopathogenic fungal platform
- Fungi-M — Metarhizium entomopathogenic fungal platform
- Fungi-Consort — validated multi-strain formulation, only after compatibility testing
Important regulatory point
For commercialization, don’t put these prototype percentages directly on a commercial label. The selected microorganism, formulation, viable count, contaminant limits, efficacy, shelf life and labeling need to be validated against the applicable PNS/BAFS 182:2023 Organic Bio-Control Agents requirements and DA regulatory process.
